Pump.fun is expected to launch its token soon
Pump.fun is the favourite playground for memecoin enthusiasts on Solana. Since its launch in early 2024, the platform has allowed anyone to create their own token.
With over $700 million in revenue generated and millions of tokens launched, it has established itself as a key player in the ecosystem.
And, according to several sources, the platform is about to launch its own token. The token will be offered to the public and private investors as part of a fundraising campaign that could reach $1 billion for a target valuation of $4 billion.
However, no official date has been confirmed, but a recent post suggests that the launch could take place within two weeks. It could also be accompanied by an airdrop for the platform's most active users.
But it's not all plain sailing. The platform has been marred by controversy: accusations against a co-founder for past scams, disputes over the ownership of certain memecoins and recurring criticism of content moderation.
Despite everything, enthusiasm remains high. And if the token delivers on its promises, Pump.fun could establish itself among the giants of the sector.
